HERTS MIND NETWORK – GET INVOLVED IN YOUR RECOVERY………

Herts Mind Network is a mental health charity covering Hertfordshire including Potter’s Bar with Well Being Centres in the East of Hertfordshire in Bishop Stortford, Waltham Cross, and Ware.

We offer a diverse range of recovery focused services to residents of Hertfordshire.  We work with people over the age of 18 years old and with no upper age limit. The aim is to create opportunities for individuals to make choices, find solutions, build resilience and take responsibility in managing their whole life and wellbeing.  All services are available to carers as well.

How is this achieved?

  • Let’s Talk Counselling – up to 10 sessions of confidential one to one talking intervention

  • Peer Support – Solution Focussed approach which offers up to 12 free one to one support sessions

  • Vocational Advice and Support – offering support with training and education, voluntary work and paid employment.

  • Citizens Advice Bureau – appointments are available to people who are accessing Herts Mind Network services. This service is currently only available at our Waltham Cross centre.

  • Personal Development courses – self-help courses by trained staff in areas such as anxiety management, relaxation, confidence and anger management.

  • Support groups- We run recovery based support groups and meeting places each week, offering support with a varied programme of activities.

What relevant support is there for people suffering from dementia and their carers?

  • New Memory Support Group – a group for people with early memory loss and their carers, providing an opportunity to meet with people in a similar situation in a relaxed atmosphere. The group enjoys a variety of activities to help keep minds active and alert including reminiscence, songs and gentle exercise. Occasionally the group benefits from speakers providing information on relevant topics. This group meets weekly in Potter’s Bar.

  • Carers Support Group- a group for all carers, providing an opportunity to meet with people in a similar situation in a relaxed atmosphere. Our Carers Support Group shares relevant knowledge through a monthly Carers’ Newsletter designed by group members. This group meets fortnightly in our Waltham Cross centre.
